It's almost time.

For those of you who follow my work, the National Novel Writer's Month starts tonight at Midnight, less than twelve hours from now from where I am at. I'm excited about starting something new though I love the work I have going now.

For those who don't know what it is, an author signs up to write fifty thousand words of a novel in the thirty days of November. There are no prizes involved, all we authors get is the satisfaction of saying we did it. I did it last year, and enjoyed it, actually made my goal with my story Saint's Quest.

I'm not sure what I'll be writing this year, but I know I'll have fun with it. If I have time, I'll continue the three storylines I have going. Maybe that'll be my cure if I have writers block. I'll post the chapters on my story page as I get them done.

National Novel Writers Month

Starting on the first of November, the Nanowrimo begins. It's an exciting time for budding novelists to sit down and force themselves to write that first draft. Fifty thousand words can look like a lifetime when you've never done it before.

I did the Nano last year and really enjoyed it. It was a lot of fun to watch my word count climb and to see exactly what I could do with a month's time and a decent plot line. This year I'm not as worried about the amount of words. If I have a plot that sticks, characters I like and ideas that blend then I can write that amount within two weeks time.

I will be holding off on finishing the rest of my stories until I have those fifty thousand words. When that happens, I'll finish off the three stories I've got going and you'll also get to read my nano manuscript as it gets finished.

My Pen Name

I am so disappointed. I thought I'd come up with a wonderful pen name to write my novels under and wham....I find out someone else thought it was a wonderful pen name as well. It's disaapointing, but I think I'll get over it.

So, instead, I will be writing under the name of Wendy Stone. I hope you'll look for them when they come out.

Most of you know me as Daniellekitten, the name that I use online to post stories at a few websites. It's a screen name that I've had a very long time, but for publishing I plan to use the name Wendy Leigh.

It's an exciting time for me, with Nano on the way and a chance to be published coming, I'm raring at the bit to write even more than I was before. I've been writing for many years, having to stop when I was working full time. I love that I can write full time now and pray that I'll be able to make money at this since I love doing it so much.

Those of you who have read my blog on one of the other websites know that I have my younger sister living with me. Her name is Stephanie and she's a typical teenager with the typical problems. She loves going to school and telling everyone that I write porn, the rotten kid. She does it for the shock value, I'm guessing. Now where would she get an idea to do that from?

I spend a good eight hours a day writing, I've written six novels this year along with a few stories and some that haven't seen the light of day yet. I plan on continuing with this pace as long as the storylines will work for me.
