But every once in a while, about once a week, I'd estimate, I get an email that isn't so lovely. Now this isn't a bad thing. If someone questions my stories than that makes me go back and look at what I've written to see if perhaps I did screw it up.
The one that I got this morning, though, bothered me more than most. It seems the reader, who wished to remain anonymous which is his choice, wasn't happy with some of my choice of words and the fact that I make my women weak. I've never thought of my characters as weak. I've tried to make them strong and creative, witty and able to stand up for themselves.
That didn't bother me as much as what else he said. He said I lacked respect for my readers because I have stories out there that are kind of hanging in limbo.
I have tried to let everyone know, in my stories and on my bio page and here in the blog that I will be working on the Nano, but that I will return to the stories that I have out now as soon as Captive Angel is finished. It's past the half way point.
I'm sorry if any of you feel the same way as this anonymous reader. I apologize for not finishing those stories before starting the Nano, but this contest is important to me.
On a side note, the next chapter of Beastly Intentions will be out Nov. 9. Thanks all for reading me.
